The Buchanan Co. Historical Society announces a DOUBLE HEADER for the night of Nov. 12, 2022. The
first event begins at 5-6:30 pm at Heartland Acres Museum, 2600 Swan Lake Blvd. Enjoy an evening of
Independence History comes to life to benefit the Buchanan Co. Historical Society and the 175th
anniversary of Independence, Iowa. Family-oriented presenters portray several local people of
different eras. Children will receive a 1/64th matchbox car NASCAR theme. Admission is $10. Each or $20.
Per family. The second event starts 6:30-10 pm in the Event Center at Heartland Acres. Enjoy an adult
evening out 6:30-7 pm social hour, 7-8 pm Independence Trivia (bring some friends to help), and 8-10 pm
dance to “Plug Nickel”. Free will donation, cash bar. Proceeds will benefit the Buchanan Co. Historical
Society and their ongoing projects. It takes a community to save history. Please do your part.
