Heartland Acres successfully completed an annual tractor ride through the Iowa countryside Saturday, June 8. Thirty tractors were in the lineup for the ride and the owners of the tractors were enthusiastic about having a nice day for the ride. “Weather has been a bit difficult lately for farming so we figured we may as well take a ride,” said Paul Kitner with Kitner Farms.
The ride also included Mark Pasveer, a Norwegian journalist who is reporting for Traktor Magazine based in Norway. From every perspective Mark found his visit to Iowa very welcoming and commented several times on how friendly everyone is the beautiful Iowa landscape. The rolling hills in Buchanan County reminded him of the Norway countryside.
Tractor riders were treated to a morning break at B & B Farm Store Jesup and a catered lunch at the Robert Bentley Park in Fairbank by Fairbank Food Center. The riders also made stops at Hub City Implement in Oelwein and an afternoon break at the Scott and Shalon Frye farm before returning to Heartland Acres.
