Heartland Acres Agribition center announced today that an Oliver Toy Exhibit will be on display from January 16 through Feb. 24, 2008. This display is on loan by Gene Ficken of Independence, Iowa and is ‘just a few’ of the items he has in his toy collection. He has either restored or custom built some of the toy tractors. One of the more unusual Oliver advertising pieces is a fishing lure. Other Oliver advertising memorabilia includes ash trays, cigarette lights, pocket knife and a letter opener from H.H. Hand Implement. The largest of the items on display is a restored “Oliver Row Crop 88” pedal tractor. This exhibit will bring back the memories for everyone and can be viewed “Center Court” of the Heartland facility. Also now on display in the Machine Shed includes a 1937 Oliver Row Crop 70 on loan from J. Wayne Crawford, and a 1959 Oliver 550 on loan from Lloyd Welter, and a Minneapolis Moline UDLX 1938 Comfort Tractor on loan by Paul & Kay Weiss. Admission fee as usual. Exhibits are changing – time for YOU to revisit.
