Twenty five years of their lives were invested in the restoration of this rare and beautiful tractor. From installing the correct windshield wipers, to correct paint codes and all other details, this tractor is as accurately restored as possible with available parts.
The Minneapolis-Moline Tractor Company started in 1929. It was the product of a merger between; Minneapolis Steel & Machinery, Minneapolis Threshing Company, and Moline Plow. Headquartered in Hopkins, Minnesota it had plants in Minneapolis, Hopkins, and Moline, Illinois.
Minneapolis-Moline pioneered the development of the closed cab concept for farm tractors. The 1938 model UDLX Comfortractor was revolutionary for the time. When production halted due to high production costs, lack of demand and design concerns it would take another 30 years before manufactures would once again be looking at putting production cabs on tractors.
The 1938 Minneapolis Moline UDLX on display at Heartland Acres is one of approximately 30 known survivors. This along with many other historic tractors is part of the tractor and implements displayed at Heartland Acres, in Independence, Ia.
